Opt-Out/Ad Choice

“To choose not to participate in something”

In the field of online advertising , opt-out can be considered as a feature which helps to avoid receiving unsolicited product or service information . As we know the ads we receive on Web pages are customized based on predictions about our interests generated from our visit to different websites which is called as interest based or online behavior advertising. So if any user doesn’t want to receive interest-based advertising from the participating companies, we can use the Opt-out function and can avoid the Ads.

We can opt for the specific companies also i.e. from which company we are good to receive the interest based Ads and from which we do not want..

You can choose the companies for optout from the below link

Also Opting out does not mean you will no longer receive online advertising. It does mean that the company or companies from which you opted out will no longer deliver ads tailored to your web prefrences and usage patterns.

For GOOGLE :

We have a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on which helps in providing website visitors more choice on how their data is collected by Google Analytics, the add-on communicates with the Google Analytics JavaScript to indicate that information about the website visit should not be sent to Google Analytics.

Also if any user prefer not to receive interest-based advertising from google in web browsers, you can always click the “Opt out” button on the Ads Preferences Manager.. After you opt out, Google will not collect interest category information and you will not receive interest-based ads via Google when accessing the web through a web browser.
